The smaller companies, which deal with web development, can now offer web design to individuals and smaller companies, which further adds growth to this industry. And for the web development platforms and tools and programs needed, a lot are already available for everyone for free. One common example would be LAMP, which stands for Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP. This is usually distributed for free and has been used by many people everywhere in setting up and developing their websites, also contributing to popularity of web development.
